CELEBRITIES GIVE BACK

Mea West, Emmylou Harris, Dr. Julie Kaufman

12-time Grammy Award winner, American singer-songwriter and musician Emmylou Harris has recorded more than 25 albums and has lent her talents to countless fellow artists’ recordings. Her career spans over 40 years. In recognition of her remarkable career, Emmylou was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008.

Emmylou is a supporter of animal rights and founded Bonaparte’s Retreat a dog rescue Emmy founded. She rescued Bella a black lab mix from the Nashville Metro pound and provided an especially happy ending to her story: “She goes on the tour bus with me now, along with another one of my rescues. I think of all the years on the road I wasted without a dog. They make it so much more pleasant. I’m making up for lost time now, that’s for sure.” Emmylou Harris.

Bella inspired a song on Emmy’s new CD Hard Bargain called Big Black Dog.  Purchase the CD Hard Bargain at www.amazon.com
